I really like the Universal Dual Colored Small Tags. I use them on baby calves, and I also use them as a backup safety tag on big cows in case their larger tag ever gets lost. They’re a good size for calves without being bulky, but still easy enough to read and identify.
The dual-color design works great with engraving. The numbers/lettering show up clean and easy to read, which makes identifying calves or backup-tagged cows quick and simple. I like that the engraving holds up well and doesn’t just wipe off or fade like marker can.
They’re simple, practical, and useful for keeping records straight. I’ll keep buying them.
I’ve had good luck with the Ritchey Clover Buttons for two-piece cattle ear tags. They install cleanly when used with the correct Ritchey tool pin, and they seem to hold the tag securely once they’re in. I like the dome-style design because it doesn’t leave as much exposed edge behind the ear for twine, brush, or junk to catch on, which is a big deal when cattle are around hay, fences, and pasture.
They’re a simple part, but they feel well thought out. Good retention, easy to use with the right pin, and a cleaner design than a basic flat back button. I’d buy them again, especially for calves or cows where I want the tag to stay put.
I’ve been very happy with this Ritchie tool pin. It’s simple, sturdy, and does exactly what it’s supposed to do. The fit is good, it holds securely, and it feels like it’s built well enough to handle regular use without bending or wearing out right away.
It’s one of those small parts that you don’t think much about until you need it, but having a good-quality pin makes a difference. Installation was straightforward, and it has held up well so far. Overall, I’d recommend it to anyone needing a reliable replacement or spare pin for their Ritchie tool.
Worked great would always recommend ritchey tag equipment
Great product
First time I used it was to treat a bull that had injured his eye . Ran him in the Shute and hooked him in the mouth and caught one of the **** on the head piece to hold him . He stayed calmer and I was never in the way of his head to get hit . It hangs right there on the head gate . Need one in all trucks and corrals
